3. Where are you from?
I moved to NJ about seven months ago. I was born and raised in Troy, North Carolina.
4. Describe yourself in 3 words.
This is always fun to think about. I never really have three words ready! But I know, for sure, I will always describe myself as dynamic, awkward, and motivated.
5. Explain why you chose those 3 words.
First, I’m dynamic in character and thought. I was extremely introverted when I was a child, but now I’ve become more extroverted (but I still have those times where I don’t want to talk to anyone haha). When I create a new goal for myself, I’m always different by the time I reach that goal. Whether I grow a different perspective or a different attitude, my thoughts are always evolving like a dynamic character. Second, I’m just awkward in general. I love puns. I never really know how to carry a conversation with someone because I always end up making it really awkward for them to respond. Finally, I’m always motivated about something. Some days I’m motivated to sleep twelve hours, other days I’m motivated career-wise. Doesn’t matter what it is, I’m always motivated about something.
6. What is something that you are passionate about?
I’m incredibly passionate about supporting society’s “abandoned” population. When I say abandoned I mean the population of society that is screaming to be heard. This is the population of people who want to pursue their dreams but are trapped by their surrounding social community that tells them they can’t do it. This is the population of neglected mentally ill individuals who are cast aside and looked at like they’re society’s nuisance. This is the population of constantly mistreated and hated individuals because society won’t take a second to open its mind and process what they have to say. I have so many plans to be a part of communities that advocate for this population and to build my own community.
7. Who is the most phenomenal woman you know? Why?
The most phenomenal woman I know will always be my mom. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be the disruptive and passionate woman I am today. She suffered a lot during her life and has spent everyday making sure me, and my siblings, will never know such suffering. Without her, things like love, care, and strength wouldn’t even be in my DNA. She is so hardworking, even now, and always makes sure that my siblings and I are all ok. Eventually, I want to be able to show her a daughter she can be proud of who she can find the same strength in.
8. What does being a phenomenal woman mean to you?
A phenomenal woman is a woman who doesn’t compromise herself. She knows who she is, what she wants, and is unwilling to change that for a better opinion of her. She loves herself, loves her flaws, knows when she’s wrong, fights when she’s right, and evolves from her experiences. This is a woman who isn’t afraid to live her life by her rules. She embraces life and builds a life that others look at and say, “Damn. I’ll have what she’s having.”
