Life Update: So I Graduated… What’s Next? | Life

I know… I know. When I started blogging again this year I said I was going to be more consistent. Although it was working for a little while, I fell off once again.

This isn’t another post to talk about how I’m going to be more consistent now that I’m done with school, but more of a quick update on what I’ve been up to. It’s only been two weeks since I graduated and life got real quicker than I expected.

On June 13th I turned 22. Yes, I look like I’m fresh out of high school and waiters still look pass me when talking about the drink menu, but yes I’m 22. Once you hit 21 life seems to fly by so enjoy every moment that you have.

22nd Birthday

This birthday I didn’t really do much because my senior semester… let’s just say it was rough and didn’t have too much room for breaks. I never pulled so many all-nighters in my four years of college. It was all worth it because on July 30th I was able to reap the benefits and receive my Bachelors of Science in Communications.

Now that I’m finished with undergrad I’ve been receiving the dreaded “what’s next?” question.

There are many different avenues that I can and want to take especially having a degree in such a broad field. When I started college I wanted to be on camera talent, but soon realized I enjoy the production aspect of everything a lot more. I was exposed to different parts of communication through my four years and learned my strengths and worked on my weaknesses. I know what my overall end goal is, where I want to be in the next 5-10 years, but as of right now I’m working on setting the small goals that will get me there.

So I will be taking a year off to work and save up for graduate school. While on my break I decided to start a segment on here called ‘Post-Grad Diaries’ where I will be transparent in my journey after undergrad. I’ll be highlighting every success and every fail to be something to look back on as well as help others who are in similar situations.

That’s it for now. I’m Looking for to this next chapter of my life!

Comment below some accomplishments you’ve made so far this year. I would love to read them.

Until next time!

I was just going to hit the Star “thing” and leave it at that, but the “Star thing” means nothing. I wonder when people hit the Like Star on my posts did they even bother to read my posts. I doubt it. I discuss some serious topics about Life as a Creative. Life as a Photographer, but maybe 1% of the time, I get a comment. It can be frustrating! Very Frustrating. But I continue blogging….I’ve been blogging for, I think, 11 years, maybe more. ANYWAY, I did have a purpose here, giving a comment: I wanted to let you know, I DID ACTUALLY READ YOUR BLOG! Congratulations on your graduation, and your blog anniversary. I think giving blog comments reassures bloggers that their posts are meaningful. That you have value and purpose. That your words are not just taking up dead space in the blogosphere. And….I wish you continued success and that you plan your life very carefully. Decisions you make now can cause you great happiness in 20 years, or they can haunt you for the next 20 or 30, or more years. Seriously—Plan carefully. Good luck!

I completely understand. Thank you for taking the time out to read and I hope you enjoyed! Also, thank you for the the kind words. Life after graduation has been a little rocky, but I’m slowly getting the hang of it.
