Playlist | March 2016
Is it just me or does this year feel like it’s flying by?
April already? I don’t even remember March happening. The one thing I do remember, though, is having a bomb playlist!
I listen to any kind of music, but my go-to genres are R&B and Neo-Soul. There is something about hearing an artists’ emotions through their songs that draws me to these two styles of music— probably growing up listening to Lauryn, India and Erykah along with plenty of good oldies played a role in this.
I’m always searching for new artists and new songs to listen to, it’s like a little hobby of mine.
Here are the top 6 songs that I had on repeat for the month of March.
Loved By You x Kirby
I heard this song while watching one of my favorite YouTube couples, Jamie and Nikki! I really love the old school feel to this one. The guitar really compliments her voice and brings the whole song together.
Ama Be Happy x ArchDuke ft. Jenee Jones
This song, I guess I can say, is my anthem. I’m always dancing around to this one and it’s one of the songs that keeps me pushing forward.
Anywhere But Here x Cocaine 80’s
Love, love, love Cocaine 80’s (James Fauntleroy). I remember finding him when I was doing some research on Jay-Z and Beyonce’s Part II (On The Run) and seeing his name pop up. I then found out that he wrote for Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience and many other songs that I like/love.
Naked x Savannah Dumetz
This is a recent one. This song just puts me in a calming mood and I listen to it usually when I’m getting ready for bed.
Cliffhanger x Elhae
An artist found by watching another one of my favorite YouTubers, LaToyaForver. Ever since hearing him in her videos I have loved every single one of his releases. I hope to one day see him in concert!
When The Darkness Comes x JP Cooper
JP Cooper is one of my favorite artist and his voice is… everything. After hearing him sing in a spoken word I was listening to, I had to listen to the rest of his music. EP after EP I slowly fell in love with his music. So much meaning behind the words in his songs; I feel like his music should be on everyone’s playlist.
I hope you enjoyed listening! Leave a comment below telling me the one you liked the most and if you have any song suggestions, also, leave them below; I love hearing new music 🙂
Until next time!
